3 Wonderful One Tank Trips for Autumn

“The days of summer have flown by, as they always do. The leaves have started to turn, and a crisp breeze rummages through the trees.” – Jennifer Merrick

Ah, autumn…the leaves sliding from green to orange and red, sweaters and scarves are released from closets and it’s a wonderful time to jump in the car and do a few short jaunts to enjoy the season.
Here are three One Tank Trips definitely worth doing this season:

Scandinave Spa – Blue Mountains

Drive a little over an hour north and you’ll find a relaxing oasis via the serenity of Scandinave Spa in the Blue Mountains.  Surrounded by majestic scenery upon 25 acres of land, gaze upon Ontario birch, Canadian maple and pine trees and expansive views of the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve Niagara Escarpment. Autumn is especially remarkable as you’ll have a chance to experience a colourful tree display.
Once you’re there indulge in a variety of Scandinavian bath, spa and massage treatments, all in a tranquil, phone-free environment.

Waterfall Tour – Hamilton and surrounding areas

Put on a good pair of shoes and head west to the “Waterfall Capital” boasting over 100 of these wonderful waterfalls and cascades. From smaller, ribbon cascades to the larger, deep-drop wonders, it’s easy to spend a day walking, hiking and filling up your Instagram feed.
Webster Falls is the largest and if you find the right spot, you’ll get postcard worthy shots.
Devil’s Punchbowl treats you to a deep, multi-coloured gorge that’s simply stunning.
Felker’s Falls requires a bit of extra work but I assure you, it’ll be worth it once you see just how gorgeous and scenic this waterfall is.

Wine Country – Niagara-On-The-Lake and surrounding areas

We’re fortunate to live so close to this hotbed for wonderful wine and as such, it’s a quick hour-ish long drive to reach Niagara-On-The-Lake.  There are over 20 wineries in the region, each offering something different from the wines itself to tours, with plenty in between.
Autumn’s bursts of colours perfectly frame this radiant region as you create your own route map to your wineries. There are tour operators in the area that can do the driving as well.
From reds to white wines and big to boutique wineries, your time in the Niagara Escarpment and the picturesque Niagara River Parkway is a must-see.
