'Art in the Park' returns to Riverwood September 18th

Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) at Riverwood will welcome Mississauga’s art and nature lovers to its 25th annual Art in the Park celebration. The free event will take place on Sunday, September 18, 2016, from 10 am until 4 pm at Riverwood Park located at 4170 Riverwood Park Lane. Art in the Park will showcase the works of over 30 artists showing and selling their handcrafted, unique works of art. There will be musical performances, free all-ages activities, food trucks and more! Bring your friends and family and spend the day in Mississauga’s breathtaking Riverwood Park. For more information, check out VAM’s Look Book, which contains a map, artist/vendor listings, and beautiful examples of the wares on offer.

Art in the Park is one of my favourite events,” explains Executive Director Annis Karpenko. “It is hard to believe that down the road from Mississauga’s urban city core, this beautiful natural oasis exists. To have the park filled with art, music and food…well, that’s paradise to me!”

VAM will also be presenting a free family art activity, Tread On It!, led by professional artist Jeff Mann. Participants are asked to bring their own cotton t-shirts for this “green” printmaking activity using recycled auto parts.

Art in the Park is free and parking is available at Riverwood Park, located at the intersection of Burnhamthorpe Rd W and The Credit Woodlands. Additional parking is available at the Erindale GO Station on Rathburn Rd. W. at Creditview Rd. VAM is located at 4170 Riverwood Park Lane in Mississauga.
