Standing outside the main entrance of the Hershey Centre, on a clear day, one look east shows the Toronto city skyline, and a look southwest provides views of the iconic Marilyn Monroe condo towers.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2018, the 17,000 sq.ft arena is Mississauga’s home to sports and entertainment. Opened in 1998, the facility continues to provide spectacular views with live action sports, music productions and concerts, as well as National and World athletic competitions.
The Hershey Centre is owned by the City of Mississauga and privately operated by SMG, a service that provides management to more than 15 million square feet of exhibition space and more than 1.5 million sports and entertainment seats globally.
The popular arena recently received upgrades to LED lighting, state of the art sound system, new dasher boards and spectator screening. The renovations ensure the facility is presenting the best product in front of the community and visitors from surrounding areas and abroad.
The Ontario Hockey League’s 2016/2017 Eastern Conference and Central Division Champs, Mississauga Steelheads, look to continue their record with NHL-drafted players like Owen Tippet and Nicolas Hague. The NBA Gatorade League’s 2017 Champions Raptors 905, also look to setting more records for their 3-year-old team with their returning championship contributors, like Edy Tavares.
2018 marks the facility’s 20th anniversary packed with entertainment, action, affordable tickets, and FREE parking on site. Aside from the regular season home games for the Steelheads and the 905, plenty of ticket packages are available for Live Pro Boxing on December 16; Sesame Street Live on February 24 and 25; Canadian band Hedley Cageless Tour featuring Shawn Hook and Neon Dreams, on March 3; and The Harlem Globetrotters on April 21. The venue will also host the 55+ Ontario Summer Games in August.
