Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.”
We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.
Today’s question is about City of Mississauga resources for small business owners.
I’m looking into starting my own business in Mississauga. What can I do to get started? Are there any resources that the City of Mississauga offers to help small business owners?
If you’re interested in starting or growing a small business, the Mississauga Business EnterpriseCentre (MBEC) can help. MBEC is the City of Mississauga’s central source for small business information, resources and guidance.
MBEC offers free and low cost business seminars, workshops and online business training courses for anyone looking to learn or improve essential business skills as well as learn the steps to start a business. This includes developing your business idea, preparing a business plan, digital marketing, small business development and management and sales strategies. It also includes information about available government programs.
MBEC also offers entrepreneurship programs that include free business skills training, mentorship and an opportunity to apply for a grant to start or expand your business.
