Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) at Riverwood welcomes art and nature lovers to its 27th annual Art in the Park on Sunday, September 17, 2017.
VAM’s signature event will feature over 40 artist vendors, arts activities, live entertainment and food in the beauty of Riverwood. Artists and artisans will show and sell their original works including paintings, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, clothing and more! Art in the Park will run from 10 am until 4 pm at Riverwood located at 4170 Riverwood Park Lane in Mississauga.
“VAM is pleased to welcome a stellar roster of Mississauga’s finest artists to beautiful Riverwood,” explains VAM Executive Director Annis Karpenko. ”Art in the Park attracts hundreds of visitors to the historic MacEwan Barn, our modern VAM Arts Centre and natural setting of the VAM Common Green. We invite everyone for a day of art, music, food and fun!”
VAM is pleased to offer a free Art-Making Activitysponsored by Meridian Credit Union at this year’s event. Participants of all ages are asked to bring recycled or new t-shirts and try their hand at print making. This activity will be guided by VAM’s professional Artist Instructors.
VAM is also pleased to showcase the talents of emerging youth artist Katarina Tkaczyszyn at the Youth Art Installation sponsored by TD Bank. This new program creates a platform for contemporary youth artists to share their work with the community in the historical MacEwan House. All are welcome to explore Katarina’s installation It Thrives exploring the relationship between nature and humanity.
Art in the Park will also include a meet-and-greet featuring Our Space – an interactive puppetry show for children and adults alike created by Steven Botelho.
