Modern Mississauga presents Ask The City - What is Mississauga doing about climate change and how can I get involved?

Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.” We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.

Today’s question is about climate change.

What is the City doing about climate change and how can I get involved?

The City is in the process of creating its first comprehensive Climate Change Action Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare Mississauga for the impacts of a changing global climate.

The Climate Change Action Plan is built around the central vision that Mississauga will be a low carbon and resilient community. The plan presents a way forward over the next ten years, providing a number of actions, which are grouped into five categories:

1.    Buildings and clean energy

2.    Resilient and green infrastructure

3.    Accelerating innovation and discovery

4.    Low emissions mobility

5.    Engagement and partnerships.

You can get involved by providing feedback in the following ways:

1)    Attend an open house on Thursday, October 10 at Mississauga Valley Community Centre from 7 to 9 p.m.

2)    Provide your input through an online survey by October 18, 2019
