Learn about the 2019 Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival

The Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival that has been entertaining Port Credit since 1999, returns to Memorial Park for its 21st anniversary from September 6 to 8. This annual event features the best in international and Canadian blues artists on two paid stages and two free stages in the park with non-stop music all weekend long.

The festival features a vendor village, food court and multiple bars serving beer, wine and coolers. The entire park is licensed to allow fans to “shuffle” between stages with their beverages. Organizers have added a children’s area with face-painting, free tattoos and other youth related events including the Junior Jam and Talent Search on Sunday.

Headliners this year include Crowbar, Myles Goodwyn & Friends of the Blues, Lil’ Ed & the Blues Imperials, Watermelon Slim, Jack de Keyser, Murray Porter, The Justin Saladino Band, The Dave Rotundo Band and many more.

The Ladies Sing the Blues also takes place on Saturday afternoon featuring performances by Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar, Angelique Francis, Crystal Shawanda and Jenie Thai.

Festival favourites The Legendary Downchild Blues Band take the stage for a record 21st year, celebrating their 50th Anniversary Tour to close out the festival on Sunday.

Also on Saturday we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock featuring performances highlighting the music of Jimi Hendrix, CCR, The Who, Grateful Dead and Joe Cocker.

Don’t miss the Port Credit Legion JamStage on Friday and Saturday nights where you can catch the best jams and dance the night away until 3am.

On Saturday afternoon, enjoy the free Rabba Fine Foods Street Shuffle from noon to 4pm on Lakeshore Road, featuring over 25 bands on the steps, sidewalks and patios of the village with the street closed to traffic. Festival fans will literally be dancing in the street. Live music in the clubs, bars and restaurants keep the party happening well into the night.
