Here's who is Running in the 2024 Ward 5 By-Election in Mississauga

Updated Friday, April 5th with new candidates

With Carolyn Parrish, former Ward 5 Councillor as of March 15th, 2024, resigning to focus on her mayoral campaign, there’s a second By-election on June 10th.
The one that’s getting all the attention is the mayoral race but as the largest Ward in Mississauga, the Ward 5 election also deserves attention.

As of March 26th, there are seven Ward 5 candidates, and here they are in alphabetical order according to last name, along with one of the links they provided upon registration:

Hamid Akbar - No functioning link provided

Amir Ali - Facebook - (Amir withdrew his mayoral candidacy on March 26th and opted to run in Ward 5 instead.)

Jordan Gray - Facebook

We’ll reach out to each candidate individually in the coming weeks for a candidate profile opportunity, so stay tuned for those articles.
The candidate list will be updated if/when others register to run in the Ward 5 By-election.
