Show Your Car Some Love With Exact-Match Touch-Up Paint by Roberts Paint Care

I own a 2004 Honda Accord coupe with nearly 300,000 km on the odometer. Over the past 22 years, it has seen a thing or few and along the way, it’s seen a few scratches. Ok, maybe more than a few.
This spring, I decided it’s time to show my car some love and start cleaning up those scratches. Enter Roberts Paint Care and their “Exact-Match” Touch Up Paint, with hundreds of paint colours available to match most modern vehicles.
We teamed up and through a few clicks on their website, I was able to find the exact colour for my car, Sapphire Blue Metallic.

In addition to the spray cans of paint, clear coat and blending solvent, I picked up 400 grit sandpaper and multi-use painters tape.

My process was as follows:

Tape off the scratched area
Lightly sand the area so the paint can adhere to the body
Spray three coats of paint, with each session being between six and 10-inches away from the body in smooth, evenly distributed applications, letting each coat dry for 15 minutes.
Apply two layers of the clear acrylic with the same process and drying time.
Apply a coat of the blending solvent, again, with the same distance and drying time.

There are clear instructions on the cans and the Roberts website has concise and handy videos to supplement the written instructions.

The colour matching was excellent and while I have limited experience in using touch-up paint, the process itself was simple. Yes, there are a couple of “drip” marks on the larger area I taped off but that’s a me error, not a product one.
I say that because if I can do this, I’m certain that you can as well!

Throughout the balance of this year, I’ll be using the Exact-Match Touch-Up Paint by Roberts Paint Care to get rid of the other scratches on my car.
