iGaming plays a significant role in the lives of gamers worldwide, offering comfort, fun, and a lifelong hobby. It's a favorite pastime for many Canadians as well. Numerous game developers showcase Canada or Canadian characters, adding to the appeal for players, especially from this country.
In this blog, we'll explore some virtual games featuring Canada, ideal for a delightful playthrough with friends and family during leisure time.
Assassin’s Creed Three
One of the famous AC franchises, a video game that offers both action and adventure, AC 3 grants players an immersive gameplay experience with engaging storylines and challenging missions. AC 3, which is a sequel to 2011’s Revelation, features various countries in their series, including Maryland (US), Martinique (Caribbean), and Newfoundland (Canada), either for their mission or open world. Showcasing elements of each featured country’s history and culture.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: ‘The Game’
The game visualizes the vibrant and pixelated portrayal of living in the city of Toronto, Canada. It is inspired by Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novel series or comics and its film adaptation of ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ with the exact same title, depicting the story of a young man from Toronto, Ontario, as he fights against his admired partner’s ex-lovers to win her heart.
Celeste
Set on a fictional pixelated version of Mount Celeste (an unofficial name for a mountain on Vancouver Island, Canada), playing as Madeline in this game lets you experience the thrill of climbing and conquering hardcore challenges and mysteries virtually. Alongside its adventurous nature, it also speaks about something more—emotional. Following Madeline's journey as she confronts her inner demons, you can learn valuable lessons about facing fears and anxieties. With its challenging yet easy-to-grasp gameplay mechanics, this game offers both entertainment and potential personal growth for every player.
Mass Effect 3
The sequel to Mass Effect 1 and 2; this action role-playing sci-fi shooting game has been one of the top games in the video game industry. The players of this sci-fi game usually travel across space and planets as they get into battle for their missions. However, they also got into the earth; in the beginning of the third game, they featured Vancouver, Canada, putting it at ground level for the Reaper Invasion.
Kona
It gives off a unique time-travel feel as the game features a province in Northern Canada, Quebec, in 1970. This survival horror experience places you in the shoes of Carl Faubert, a private investigator. His journey unfolds in an eerie, snow-covered abandoned town in Quebec, besieged by a blizzard. Survive the harsh weather and potential threats, such as packs of wolves, and unravel the mysteries concealed within the town.
8 Ball Pool
Bet and shoot! This widely recognized game is accessible via a website (free-play) or a downloadable mobile app. It features tables representing various countries, including Morocco, Tokyo, and Toronto (Canada). Players can bet in-game currency, compete against others virtually within and outside their country, or challenge friends. The game involves employing different tricks, skills for shooting, and critical thinking about what to target next.
Mentioning betting in gaming, online casinos have also gained popularity among Canadian bettors. In fact, there are many available sites on the internet that offer a list of the best online casinos in Canada, offering various categories, generous bonuses, and ensuring a secure gaming experience for every bettor, whether within the country's borders or accessing them from abroad with the help of a VPN.
Tails Noir (backbone)
Playing the role of a raccoon detective named Howard Lotor, this narrative adventure game lets you explore the futuristic city of Vancouver, which, instead of humans, is populated by animals. The game offers narrative experience with dialogues inspired by old-school CRPGs. The inevitability of the end is a central theme, but it's your choices in dialogue that shape which version of Howard Lotor reaches the conclusion. This adds depth and interest, allowing players to rethink the essence of being and what makes a person.
South Park: ‘The Stick of Truth’
The South Park television sitcom series has been known for its comedic nature and witty lines, along with its iconic cast. This game is not far from the humorous storylines of the show, along with the combat designs of the playthrough. South Park has always featured Canada on the show. Meanwhile, in the game, they even included the city of Ottawa, Canada, as one of the locations where players can visit the city after obtaining their passport in-game.
Last Words
The games mentioned above are just a handful of the thousands available in the virtual gaming landscape. It's beneficial that many developers highlight countries, particularly those like the mentioned games with Canadian inspiration, as they also promote awareness of diverse cultures, locations, and histories of the country that the rest of the world could witness and enjoy as they play the game(s).

Read MoreThere are several local airports in and around Toronto. Read on to learn about some of the best ones in this area.
Many people know about Toronto's primary international airport; however, only some know about the other local airports in and around this area. Some of these secondary airports offer more convenient flights and better deals. Below, we will go through some of the best local airports in and around Toronto.
First on this list is the Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, an ideal place to fly from if you plan on flying internationally. It is the primary airport in Toronto that sees over 50 million people passing through its terminals yearly. If there is no traffic, it takes about 25 minutes to get to the airport from downtown Toronto.
If you are planning on travelling to the United States from this airport, you can opt to go through both customs and immigration here and skip the hassle of having to do it when you get to the U.S.
And if you are looking to reduce the hassle even more, look into booking a private jet in Canada. Toronto Pearson International Airport might be ideal for you as a private jet traveller, as it has specific terminals for private jets that fly in and out of the airport regularly. However, if you plan on catching a connecting flight in the Toronto area, you should avoid this airport. Due to its large size, it can be challenging to navigate from one side of the airport to another in time to catch a connecting flight.
The next airport on this list is the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, also known as the Toronto Island Airport. It is located close to downtown Toronto, near several popular attractions, hotels, and Union Station. However, it is located just offshore, so you need to take a short ferry to the mainland that takes around 90 seconds. However, a free shuttle bus runs from Union Station to the ferry terminal so that you can get into the heart of downtown Toronto in a reasonably short time.
Many people enjoy flying to and from this airport as it is usually quieter than the major airports in Toronto, making for a more relaxed flying experience.
It is also located closer to downtown Toronto, so if this is your final destination, it might be worth looking at flights to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. You can fly with just about every airline that you would find at the major airports in Toronto except Porter, so you don’t have to worry about a limited choice.
John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport is located around 40 miles from the center of Toronto and takes about an hour to drive to.
However, it offers some advantages over airports such as Billy Bishop and Pearson. This airport is known for providing competitive prices and is in a fantastic location for those who want to explore the Niagara Wine Region. In addition, you will find a lot more affordable accommodation than in places such as downtown Toronto.
This airport has some downsides, such as the limited number of direct routes offered. You can fly directly to Montego Bay and Cancun and three domestic locations. If you plan on travelling to Toronto, you have to either jump on a bus or rent a car. Taking a cab to Toronto is not always advised, as it can be very expensive.
The final airport on this list is the Buffalo Niagara International Airport in Cheektowaga, New York. This airport is ideal to fly into if you plan on visiting Niagara Falls or the Niagara wine region. You will likely find flights that are much cheaper than those flying from and to major airports in this area.
There is so much to do in the Niagara Falls area from going on an exhilarating boat ride right up to the waterfall to climbing the Skylon Tower to get amazing views of the surrounding area as well as enjoying amazing wine and charcuterie tours. You certainly don’t have to travel far from the Buffalo Niagara International Airport to have a fantastic holiday.
It takes around two hours to travel to Toronto from Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Hence, it is a good idea to rent a car and drive instead of paying a lot for a taxi.
There is no universally right answer when choosing an airport in the Toronto area to fly in or out of — it all depends on your needs. Each airport has its advantages, so it is worth researching to figure out where you want to go once you land in Toronto and decide what works best for you in terms of cost and convenience.

Read MoreFor passionate sports fans, placing a bet on your favorite team makes watching the game that much more exciting. Whether you’re an experienced veteran or just starting to dabble in sports betting, having the right strategies can help make you more successful and boost your enjoyment. In the online casino market in Canada and elsewhere, sportsbooks continue to gain popularity thanks to innovative betting options and the ease of wagering from your phone or laptop.
Here are some effective sports betting strategies for capitalizing on your sports insight as an avid fan.
Know Your Teams Inside and Out
As a devoted fan, you already follow player injuries, roster changes, and team drama more closely than the average bettor. Put that knowledge to work by betting on the teams and players you know best. Follow their stats and trends over a full season to spot when they’re hot and when they’re slumping.
Create power rankings in your head of teams’ performance potential game by game and season by season based on factors like payroll, trades, coaching, and previous matchups. Then target your bets around teams you believe are over or undervalued in any given contest.
Look for online casinos that have extensive sportsbooks so you can bet on the sports you love. Players in Nova Scotia or Ontario, for example, can leverage some of the top names, which are now available here. The bigger the selection, the easier it will be to find the teams you are most familiar with.
Shop the Betting Lines
The betting lines will move depending on public perception and betting trends, especially as game time nears.
Savvy sports bettors target the best numbers by hunting for lines they think are under or over-inflated, patiently waiting to jump on a line when there’s value. Make sure to have accounts with multiple sportsbooks so you can compare the lines side by side.
Over time, capitalizing even slightly better odds on your bets can really compound your payout potential.
Leverage Home Field Advantage
Study statistics to reveal how significantly the home-field advantage impacts different sports matchups. In the NFL, for example, the home field lifts the win probability by 2 to 7 points on average depending on the stadium. In the Canadian NHL, play conditions between 2020-2021 caused by ghost games and other restrictions led to a significant loss of the home advantage.
Mostly, though, a home advantage is more likely to lead to a win by the home team. Knowledge of these edges can inform smart bets, especially when the public tends to underestimate or neglect the home-field advantage for certain contests.
Place your bets to maximize situations when you have the data to recognize when playing at home will matter most.
Bet Against the Public
The general betting public often reacts strongly to recent performances, overvaluing teams on winning streaks and undervaluing teams on losing skids.
Savvy bettors target payouts by going against emotional public perception to place contrarian bets on teams temporarily in the doghouse or fading hot favorites ripe for a comedown. Of course, be careful not to buck trends blindly - use your fan expertise to analyze when public perception diverges most widely from your power rankings on a team’s potential. Time your bets strategically to maximize betting value in the opposite direction of hype trains or meltdowns.
Employ Teasers and Parlay Strategically
Teaser bets and parlay bets linked across multiple games offer tantalizing payouts but very long odds of hitting. The key to factoring these specialized bets into your wagering strategy is using them sparingly and strategically.
Be highly selective in teasing your spread bets across key numbers like 3, 7, or 10. Resist the urge to build giant parlays all at once.
Instead, play smaller 2- or 3-leg parlays with calculated risks on correlations you’ve observed in team performances.
Maybe you parlay moneyline bets on favorites with strong records after bye weeks. Or you parlay spread bets on division rivals with a track record of close games.
Leverage your fan expertise to selectively employ teasers and parlays to spice up payout potential.
Let Math Be Your Guide
While sports betting is hugely exciting, your strategies ought not get carried away purely by emotions and hunches alone if you want to bet responsibly. Applying math discipline enables you to quantify and scale your risks and rewards.
Set clear bankroll guidelines for yourself on a weekly or monthly basis and tier that money sensibly across bet types and odds ranges to maximize upside. As profits come in, dedicate portions to reinvesting in your bankroll versus cashing out to discipline yourself. Use tracked data from your betting history to constantly evaluate and optimize your strategy too.
Over time, math transparency will compound better returns.
At its core, sports betting allows superfans like you to fully engage with and benefit from your senses for the teams, players, and games you’re most passionate about. Blending these strategic concepts with your unique sports insights will help you bank on your fan expertise all season long. By putting your knowledge to work strategically, you can win big money while winning big bragging rights too among your betting circle.
