Mississauga's Glimpse Kids and Friends Spread Positivity and Hope

Through their YouTube platform, the GLIMPSE INTO THE LIFE OF A CHILD team continues to collaborate with generous members of the arts community to add as much positivity to the world as they can. That’s the goal of Project Action 2020/2021. Through the eyes of a child, let’s change the world one positive action at a time.

The month of March proved to be incredibly marvelous for the Glimpse Kids and their new friends.  The kids conducted three amazing interviews with three amazing artists, each of which culminated with a special musical performance.

Singer and songwriter, Matt Hinojosa (@matthinomusic), talked to the kids about what it means to be a true friend and the importance of making compassion cool again!  They focussed on the concept that we can show the world what we’re made of when we are called to help those in need.  The kids reflected on lyrics in Count On Me by Bruno Mars and then Matt agreed to perform a special cover of the song for the kids.

Singer and songwriter, John Muirhead (@johnpmuirhead), took some time off from promoting his new musical release, The Traveller, to spend some time with the Glimpse Kids.  The focus of their time together was the messages found in Susan Verde’s book, I AM ONE. This book of action empowers us all to take action to be better and do better. All great things start with ONE choice, ONE kind word, ONE compassionate gesture, it all starts with ONE. John offered to write an original song for the Glimpse Kids to capture the learning from their time together.

Singer and songwriter, Tennyson King (@tennysonking), joined the Glimpse journey to talk about the light at the end of the tunnel and the idea that we should all be grateful for our struggles. It is through them that we grow and learn. Tennyson and the Glimpse Kids used Smriti Halls’ book, RAIN BEFORE RAINBOWS, as their anchor text. With a focus on igniting hope, they talked about having courage, accepting change, persisting through hard times, and always moving forward with a strong belief that things will be okay. Tennyson gifted the Glimpse Team an original song using the poem from RAIN BEFORE RAINBOWS as the lyrics.

Every new Glimpse Team collaboration adds to the spectacular growing setlist for their school year ending celebration at the end of June. Glimpsepalooza 3 is shaping up to be an incredible virtual event with more than 25 musical guests performing more than 45 songs.  For more information and to follow the Glimpse Into The Life of a Child journey, please visit https://linktr.ee/glimpseteam.
