Learn About Mississauga's 2023 Lakeshore Art Trail

Mississauga’s long-standing art event, the Lakeshore Art Trail (LAT) is in their 22nd year and will be held on October 21 & 22, 2023. This year’s Trail plans to be bigger and better with more artists participating and a focus on supporting the arts for artists with disabilities.

They’ve partnered once again with Creative Hub 1352 at the Small Arms Inspection Building and the large gallery wall displaying the work of all participating artists will be back. On Saturday you can enjoy coffee and treats from the onsite café while listening to special guest speakers and participating in workshops. Then on Sunday, the LAT will coincide with the weekly Lakeview Farmers Market which features local products, live music, a café and more.

The event is free and there is ample parking, making it even more inviting to attend.

The Trail was first established in 1999 as a collective of local artists, exhibiting from their artist studios. As the Trail has evolved, it has become a community event, as artists partnered and collaborated with local small businesses, libraries and galleries throughout Clarkson, Lorne Park and Port Credit, creating an annually-anticipated weekend gallery/studio hopping event.  We have discussed the idea of one location for a number of years and thought this year would be a good one to test it out.

Participating artists are juried into the show by a panel of three Lakeshore Art Trail artists.

As the Trail is a cooperative of artists, each participating artist contributes to the organization of the event through volunteer tasks and procured sponsorship advertisements.

Mark your calendars for October 21 & 22, 2023 and visit their website to see all of the over 40 participating artists.
