2026 Mississauga Election Candidate Profile: Ward 11 - Brad Butt
/With the upcoming 2026 Municipal elections happening on Monday, October 26th, Modern Mississauga Media has reached out to all candidates inviting them to answer the same questions so voters can familiarize themselves with them.
With the 2022 Mississauga election having a paltry 21.84% voter turnout, this series is to educate the community and hopefully increase voter turnout for 2026.
Low voter turnout means that the voices of a few make decisions for all.
Candidate’s were also asked to provide at least four images and their answers are unedited.

1. Why are you running for Ward 11 councillor?
I am seeking re-election as Councillor for Ward 11 after serving this past term working hard in our community, city and region representing our neighbours. I live and have a long history of service in the community and want to put that experience to work again.
2. What makes you stand out over other candidates?
Experience, Knowledge. Dedication. I live in Ward 11 and have demonstrated decades of commitment to our city every year - not just election year.
3. What are your key campaign priorities?
Making Mississauga more affordable, livable and successful for families and businesses. We must continue to be a leader in housing, infrastructure and community investment while keeping taxes down.
4. What budget item is the most important for Mississauga?
Infrastructure. If you can't keep up with those needs in a big city like Mississauga you'll never be able run a successful city for everyone.
5. What are your three favourite aspects of Mississauga?
Lots of greenspace, strong local neighbourhoods and a very diverse resident and business community.
6. How will you be actively supporting our locally owned businesses if elected?
I have a long history of being an advocate for business both through my previous role at the Mississauga Board of Trade and active member of the Streetsville Business Improvement Association. I have been a leader on Council in support for our business community.
7. What does Mississauga currently excel at?
Providing excellent services that we can afford.
8. How would you communicate with residents and what communication standards will you be setting and following?
I have a very strong reputation for active and ongoing communication with residents through various means including e-newsletters, community meetings, social media and print newsletters. I keep our residents in the loop constantly and appreciate their communication with me as well. That's how we get things done.
9. How do you plan to actively involve and include residents in decisions?
We will continue to provide many opportunities for community engagement as in the past, going forward. I look forward to continuing that excellent level of communication in the next term of Council.
10. Please provide your campaign website.
