2026 Mississauga Election Candidate Profile: Ward 8 - Grzegorz Nowacki

With the upcoming 2026 Municipal elections happening on Monday, October 26th, Modern Mississauga Media has reached out to all candidates inviting them to answer the same questions so voters can familiarize themselves with them.

With the 2022 Mississauga election having a paltry 21.84% voter turnout, this series is to educate the community and hopefully increase voter turnout for 2026.
Low voter turnout means that the voices of a few make decisions for all.

1. Why are you running for Ward 8 councillor?
I'm not career politician, but I'm dedicated resident, who is tired of waiting for others to solve city problems. I'm running because city need fresh, focus & dedicated councillor who works for residents. Our families deserves safer streets, transparent city spending and better future.

2. What makes you stand out over other candidates?
I am running for city councillor, because every resident in Mississauga Erin Mills riding deserves a voice at City Hall. Our families deserves safer streets, transparent city spending and better future.

3. What are your key campaign priorities?
Lower property taxes, public safety, reduce bureaucracy, establish business friendly environment, build more affordable housing, lower fees for building permits and transfer fees, build new hospital(s)

4. What budget item is the most important for Mississauga?
Mississauga needs more hospitals, affordable housing, safety, improve public transportations, build more infrastructure including roads.

5. What are your three favourite aspects of Mississauga?
Mississauga is beautiful city with immense potential for developments & prosperity. By bringing more businesses to Mississauga, we can significantly improve standard of living for our residents.

6. How will you be actively supporting our locally owned businesses if elected?
Reduce bureaucracy, establish business friendly environment, lower fees for business permits and transfer fees. Establish economic zones

7. What does Mississauga currently excel at?
Mississauga is building many condominiums and houses, but this is not enough, if Mississauga wane have prosperity and good future for generation to come 

8. How would you communicate with residents and what communication standards will you be setting and following?
By delivering leaflets, emails, local community facilities meetings

9. How do you plan to actively involve and include residents in decisions?
Town Halls meetings and local ward 8 community facilities meetings working alongside ward 8 residents and families, residents, and community leaders.
