BMW's 2018 version of their modern electric car, the i3, sees an additional "s" added to the nomenclature, with the "s" standing for Sport.
In addition to the 200 km of pure electric range, there's the optional range extender trim that you could (and probably should) opt for as it gives you approximately 100 km of gasoline based power. The gas engine takes a whopping 9 litres of gas and will quell any case of range anxiety.
With over 80% of visible surfaces inside the car coming from recycled material or renewable resources, the i3s certainly has a minuscule carbon footprint.
As is common with electric vehicles, the i3s is loaded with torque for a ton of "get up and go" to the tune of 184 horsepower and 199 lb-ft. of torque.
With the range extender option, the base MSRP sits at $56,950 before you tick off the option box. Thankfully, the 2018 i3s is eligible for the full $14,000 rebate, which is take off from the after tax amount.
