Being a mobile hair service does require extra care and attention. Hammond Bryant says, “Lindsay spent a half hour on the phone with me virtually to make sure she came with everything she needed. I’m my most energetic self in the late afternoon, so she came on Friday evening at five to do my hair outside. It was a special treat because I looked great for my daughter’s 27th birthday celebration the following day.”
“Barberetta Hair has transformed out of necessity during COVID-19, giving birth to what we call the COVID Coif Project” says Lindsay Civiero, owner of the virtual hair salon. “It definitely takes more time in preparation, but it’s very rewarding because clients are more grateful than ever to be able to get their premium hair services at home, in a way that makes them feel the safest during COVID-19.”
This altruistic feeling led Civiero to take Barberetta Hair’s mobile services one step further for a charitable cause. On October 17th between 9 am and 3 pm, COVID Coif Project stylists are providing free haircuts to Trillium Health Partners frontline workers in the parking lot of Dixie Outlet Mall. Five tents will be set up on site to accommodate socially distanced haircuts given by experienced stylists wearing PPE and following strict sanitation protocols. For every haircut booked between now and the 17th, Barberetta Hair will also donate $10 to Trillium Health Partners.
“We mightn’t be an essential service,” says Civiero. “But many clients consider us essential. Getting your hair done provides people with a sense of normalcy and connection during these very strange times. That’s reward unto itself – for our clients and for us.”
