How is the City recognizing International Women’s Day for 2021?
March 8, 2021 is International Women’s Day. This year’s theme is #ChoosetoChallenge. The City of Mississauga applauds the contributions of all the women in the organization and the city who #ChoosetoChallenge to make Mississauga a great place to live, work and play.
The City of Mississauga will light the Civic Centre clock tower purple and white on March 8 in honour of International Women’s Day, and will celebrate the day on the City’s social media channels.
The City will also host the following events to commemorate International Women’s Day:
Mayor’s Office Virtual Event
On March 8, Mayor Crombie will host a fire-side chat with former Mayor, and legend, Hazel McCallion in celebration of her 100th birthday and more. You can reserve your seat here:
Women’s Entrepreneur Conference
Join the Mississauga Business Enterprise Centre (MBEC) and Mississauga Economic Development Office at the Re-Inventing in Times of Change, Women’s Entrepreneur Conference, taking place online on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

Women of Mississauga: A conversation about powerful women
In honour of International Women's Day, join the Museums of Mississauga in a conversation about some of the diverse women who have helped shape the city of Mississauga for the betterment of our many different communities.
