Mississauga's Superfan Nav Bhatia Brings Kid’s Fantasy Basketball Camp to Newton’s Grove School

Newton’s Grove School was proudly the only Ontario stop for Nav Bhatia’s highly anticipated Superfan Basketball Camp that happened August 19 to 21, 2025. Known for his unwavering enthusiasm as the Toronto Raptors’ beloved “Superfan,” Bhatia brings his passion for basketball and community to over 300 young athletes in a unique and inspiring way.

1. It's a natural pairing being the Superfan to host this basketball camp; what do you hope attendees take away from these few days?

I think they take away how to work with each other and respect each other especially from different cultures.
Team work second; how to help each other and to be a champion you have to work as a team and that is how you become a champion.
Discipline of life; respect coaches educators.

2. Your support for the Malton Mississauga community is longstanding and thoroughly appreciated by the community; what drew you to partner with Newton's Grove on this basketball camp?

First to give back to the city and community.
Canada has me everything I have in life today.
I’m blessed to be successful and want to give it back where it happened, especially being in Malton when I first arrived,
I built the court with Newton's School’s support as they offered to help partner to assist the kids for lunch and lockers and the setup. They were very generous to offer that.
I appreciate what the school does and the diversity; that is Canada's strength!
This school does so much and I look forward to working with them and promoting them further.

The Jumpstart Superfan Fantasy Basketball Camp is designed to make kids feel like professional players — instilling confidence, inspiring teamwork, and giving participants the exhilarating feeling of being “drafted” into an NBA or WNBA team. Beyond skills training, the camp will feature discussions on diversity, inclusion, and the importance of community spirit.

As the first private school in Mississauga, this state-of-the-art facility mirrors the existing structure's commitment to open and airy design, featuring expansive atrium spaces that are awash in natural light. The wing will provide an inspiring environment for learning and collaboration, seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces with stunning views of the 100-acre lush greenspace of Paul Coffey Park.

“We are excited to continue hosting the Superfan Basketball Camp again and working closely with Nav Bhaita to bring this exclusive opportunity to the Mississauga community as the only Ontario location,” said Cheri Grogan, Head of Newton’s Grove School. “We can’t wait for another unforgettable week of basketball, teamwork, and Superfan energy!”

For over 40 years, Newton’s Grove School has established itself as a leader in private education in the Mississauga region, for students from JK to Grade 12. By setting high standards and maintaining small classes, the school individualizes its approach and provides the enrichment students need. By melding traditional expectations of regular homework and disciplined studies with the latest research, lessons are dynamic and engaging, preparing students for future success.
