The nearly two-year renovation is nearly complete at Mississauga's newly-named Hazel McCallion Central Library.
How complete? It's open to the public on modified hours as of Tuesday, December 19th and will continue to do so over the next few weeks.
Although the grand opening happens on Saturday, February 3rd, you should take a look at the new digs and see just how different it is.

Some highlights before you get to the photo gallery below:

Opened in 1991, this is by far the largest renovation Mississauga's largest library has seen.
The investment was $43 million dollars initially and ended up at a total of $49 million.
It was renamed in February 2021 and officially closed for upgrades in March 2021.
The washrooms boast contact-free fixtures.

Advanced technology presents additional self-serve options.

During the renovation period, approximately 28,000 sq. ft. of public space will be added within the existing building, along with plans for an additional 6,000 sq. ft. of secondary space on the fourth floor overlooking Celebration Square.

An upgraded Breezeway will allow customers to vend physical materials, access digital collections and download library eBooks, movies and music. Plus, there’ll be holds lockers for those picking up reserved materials after hours.

There's a Tim Horton's coming in the latter half of 2024.

There’s some really cool offerings, including a 3D printer, Digital Media Lab, Computer Lab, Sound Booths, A Learning Kitchen, Quiet Study Room (it’s massive!) a new Noel Ryan Auditorium and so much more.
