Step into the Extraordinary Mind of Nikola Tesla
Explore the brilliance of one of the world’s most prolific inventors, through Tesla: A Spark of Genius, a limited-time educational exhibit, opening March 8 at the Niagara Parks Power Station + Tunnel. Discover his early encounters with science, his role in harnessing the power of Niagara Falls for long-distance electricity and his remarkable inventions that shaped modern life. This exciting collection showcases rare artifacts and personal items graciously on loan from the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade, Serbia, offering an authentic glimpse into Tesla’s electric legacy.
The Butterfly Conservatory is Buzzing with Activity
Mad Science of Niagara is bringing a world of hands-on fun to the Butterfly Conservatory on select dates this month including over March Break. Guests will learn about what makes a bug a bug, the impact of climate change on butterflies and much more. For full details niagaraparks.com/madscience.
During March Break, guests to the Butterfly Conservatory will also get a sneak peek at the plans to build Niagara’s first Children's Garden, which will feature two acres of outdoor space where children of all ages and abilities can learn and connect with nature through hands-on, nature-based play. The Niagara Parks Foundation in collaboration with Niagara Parks encourage guests to visit the information table to learn more about the project and share their thoughts. Children will be invited to create artwork and illustrations about what they enjoy most about nature and the outdoors.
New Orchid Show at the Floral Showhouse
Opening Saturday, March 8, at the Floral Showhouse, the vibrant new Orchid Show display boasts over 1,700 Phalaenopsis orchids, ranunculus, violas, ferns and tropical plants. A warm sunset palette of rich reds, maroons and purples will take over the centre house, while bright yellows, oranges and pinks transform the north house into a dreamy sunrise.
