The Influential "Just Me" Conference Returns to Mississauga for 2026

In a world filled with the constant noise of social media and the pressure of a rapidly changing economy, it's more important than ever for young girls to find their voice and their path. The disruptions caused by AI and other emerging technologies can make future career prospects seem uncertain. Too many young women reach adulthood having never crossed the gap between the classroom and industry, unsure of what a career actually looks like or how to get there. But amidst these challenges, Mississauga's Artspiration Foundation continues to grow as a beacon of hope for our community. It's more than a name, it’s a promise. A promise to help every girl, from age 8 to 18, find her voice, build her confidence, and turn her dreams into a future filled with possibilities.

Based in Mississauga, the foundation's name, "The Art of Building Confidence and Career Dreams," is inspired by the phrase "the art of…" as in "the art of sales" or "the art of communicating." This phrase is all about levelling up individual skills and strengths. Our mission is to help girls ages 8 to 18 align their passions with skills and viable career pathways, while fostering stronger communication and connection with their parents and caregivers. We believe every girl deserves the tools and opportunities to make informed choices about her future, regardless of her background or circumstances.

For a country like Canada, which is a refuge for so many displaced from their home countries, this mission holds a special significance. Many newcomers come from places where girls' education and equality are not often prioritized, making a space like the Artspiration Foundation invaluable. Through Career Pathways, girls gain firsthand exposure to Canadian industries and the resources available to pursue them, while Just Me gives young women growing up in Canada vital information and support for navigating their social and academic journey, building the soft skills, confidence, and connections they'll carry well beyond the classroom.

This year, our work comes together in two key ways:

Just Me Conference

Taking place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Luxe Convention Centre in Mississauga, Just Me Conference is our flagship one-day event for girls, parents, and educators. It's a vibrant and inclusive environment designed to foster confidence, creativity, and self-awareness through three pillars: InspireHer Workshops, VoiceHer Panels, and the IgniteHer Marketplace. The day opens with a welcome keynote and runs through moderated panels, hands-on workshops on topics like financial literacy, mental health, self-defence, and entrepreneurship, and a marketplace where girls and families can connect with local brands and businesses. It's a day to help empower young woman towards their future.

The Career Pathways Cohort

Building on our pilot program, the Career Pathways Cohort was created to close the gap between the classroom and industry. It connects high school girls in the Peel Region directly with professionals across industry sectors: including healthcare, first responders, skilled trades, business and finance, and entrepreneurship, through engaging, interactive workshops. Too often, girls are left to guess at what a career actually looks like day to day; this program puts them in the room with the people doing the work, so they can make informed decisions about their post-secondary academic and career paths by seeing the incredible opportunities that await them. We'll be launching our waitlist for the next cohort right at Just Me Conference this October, giving families a chance to sign up in person.

At the Artspiration Foundation, we believe we can't do this alone. It is critical for us to partner with community organisations that already do a phenomenal job providing vital support, employment, mental health, and settlement services, especially for youth. We are committed to working closely with these partners to ensure our initiatives are accessible to all girls, giving every single one of them the opportunity to thrive.
