Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.” We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.
Today’s question is about social circles in Stage 3.

Now that we’re into Stage 3, have the rules changed around social circles?

Even though Mississauga has moved to Stage 3, social circles of 10 people remain in effect.

Reminder: a social circle is made up of a group of up to 10 people who can interact and come into close contact with each other. People in the same social circle:

  • do not have to physically distance

  • can hug and touch each other

  • should continue to follow the Core Four actions recommended by Peel Public Health:

    • Keep your distance

    • Wash your hands often

    • Wear a face covering or non-medical mask where it’s difficult to maintain physical distance and where masks are mandatory

    • Get tested if you think you have COVID-19

Stay two metres/six feet apart from everyone else in public settings to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

Connecting with friends and family in a social circle can help to reduce social isolation and promote mental health and well-being during the pandemic.

For more information on social circles, check out the Government of Ontario’s step-by-step guide or website.
