As we slowly return to a sense of normalcy after being in the longest lockdown in North America, the Ford government has announced that tennis and golf will re-open this Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 as part of a re-opening strategy.
It’s part of a plan that will allow some outdoor activities to resume as the number of jabs in arms increases and case counts decrease.

With the failure of the previous regional approach, Ford is changing gears and utilizing a “sector-by-sector” reopening to eliminate “region-hopping.”
The goal is that the plan will slowly be phased in through the summer months once the stay-at-home order lifts on June 2, 2021.

This comes as part of a three-stage reopening, with stage one coming two weeks after 60 per cent of eligible adults have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, which is likely but no for certain on June 14th.

Phase 1 is when 60% of Ontarians have their first dose
Phase 2 is 70% with one dose, 20% fully vaccinated
Phase 3 is 70-80% with first dose and 25% fully vaccinated.

Each phase will be in place for at least 21 (twenty one) days.
Outdoor amenities open this Saturday, May 20th, 2021

The more vaccines administered, the faster we can move forward.
