Modern Entrepreneur Profile: Mississauga's Maninder Singh
/In conversation with Maninder Singh, recipient of the Mississauga Starter Company Plus grant.
1. What does your company provide or do?
House of Singh Studios works with founders, professionals, and growing businesses across four core areas that support both brand building and long term growth.
We start with brand identity and visual design, creating clear visual systems that include logos, typography, color palettes, and brand guidelines. The goal is to help businesses present themselves consistently and credibly across every touchpoint.
We then support brands through brand strategy and voice, defining how a brand communicates, positions itself, and tells its story. This includes messaging, tone of voice, and narrative direction so the brand feels intentional rather than fragmented.
Our work also includes photography and content creation, ranging from personal branding and lifestyle photography to short form video content. Every shoot and asset is planned to reflect the brand’s identity and resonate across digital platforms.
Finally, we offer a creative ecosystem through retainers and long term partnerships. This allows clients to access ongoing design, content, and campaign support, helping them scale with continuity instead of starting from scratch each time.
At House of Singh Studios, our approach is intentionally long term. We work as a creative partner rather than a one off service provider, helping brands evolve with clarity, consistency, and systems that support growth over time.
2. What inspired you to start your company?
We identified a gap where growing businesses wanted a credible brand identity and presence but were stuck choosing between expensive agencies and unreliable freelancers. At the same time, many businesses were unaware of how important branding is at the growth stage. Even with strong products or services, poor positioning often held them back. House of Singh Studios was created to bridge this gap by offering thoughtful creative work backed by structure, clear processes, and long term scalability.
3. What’s been the most impactful lesson you’ve learned being an entrepreneur?
We learned that creativity works best when it is guided by clear direction and supported by strong systems. Without that structure, good ideas often stay unfinished. Real progress comes from consistent execution, refining the process over time, and staying committed even when results are not immediate.
4. How do you unwind?
I unwind through 35mm film photography, golf, exploring small towns, discovering specialty coffee, and spending time in nature. Slowing down helps me reset creatively and brings perspective back into my work.
5. What succinct advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?
Clarity, consistency, and patience beat speed. Focus on building something solid before trying to grow it fast. When your foundation is strong, growth becomes more sustainable and less stressful.
6. What are your goals for 2026?
In 2026, House of Singh Studios is focused on growing the team, establishing a physical studio space, and scaling through long term client partnerships and recurring revenue. We also plan to expand beyond the GTA into markets such as Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary, while maintaining the quality, clarity, and intention behind our work.
7. How did the Mississauga Starter Company Plus program help you start or expand your business?
The Mississauga Starter Company Plus program provided clarity, mentorship, and practical tools at a crucial stage. It helped us think beyond creativity and operate with a stronger business mindset, clearer systems, and a more confident growth plan.
