Here are the 2025 Mississauga Music Walk of Fame Inductees

Let’s skip the long opening act, err, paragraph and get to the two inductees for the 2025 Mississauga Music Walk of Fame!

Donna Grantis was born and raised in the Applewood Heights community of Mississauga. From 2012-2016, she performed and recorded with musical icon Prince as the co-lead electric guitarist in his funk-rock trio 3RDEYEGIRL and supergroup New Power Generation.

Grantis composed the title track to Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL’s 2014 album, PLECTRUMELECTRUM, which reached #1 on the Billboard Rock Chat.

Notable performances through this period include a history-making eight-minute segment on “Saturday Night Live”, three nights headlining the Montreux Jazz Festival, headlining the Essence Festival at a sold-out Superdome in New Orleans, and a historic performance at The White House for President Barack Obama and family.

Donna has shared the stage with artists including Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, Kendrick Lamar, and Janelle Monae.

TRIUMPH defined and epitomized arena rock in the 70’s and 80’s and has received 25 Gold and Platinum Awards in Canada and the United States, a testament to their endless touring, and loyal fans. In 1983 Triumph co-headlined the US Festival in California which attracted nearly 500,000 rock fans, rivaling Woodstock as the largest festival audience in US concert history.

In 2007 they were inducted into the Canadian Music & Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame, and at the 2008 Junos, Triumph was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. In July that year, “Triumph Lane”, a street in their home base of Mississauga, was officially dedicated in honor of the band by Mayor Hazel McCallion. In the fall of 2019 Triumph was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame, and in June 2021 Triumph was inducted into the Metal Hall of Fame in Anaheim, California.

The fall of 2021 saw the release of the Banger Films feature documentary about Triumph’s career, “Rock ‘n Roll Machine” which debuted at The Toronto International Film Festival and a Triumph tribute album featuring Dee Snider, Slash, Nancy Wilson, and many others is scheduled for release in June of this year.
