How to Vote in Advance for Mississauga's 2026 Elections

All eligible voters are invited to utilize advance voting prior to the official Election Day, Monday, October 26.
This gives voters increased days and more locations to cast their ballot before Election Day. It is the same voting process but with more convenience.
Advance voting makes voting easier, reduces lineups and gives voters more flexibility.
If you have work, school, caregiving responsibilities, travel plans or other commitments on October 26, this can help you make a plan and have your say.

Here are the responses so far from the candidates for the 2026 Mississauga election that have decided to engage.
Vote in advance takes place between Tuesday, October 6 and Sunday, October 11 and available at Mississauga City Hall (300 City Centre Dr.) on October 6 and 7. From October 8 to 11, locations will be open across the city, and you can vote at any advance voting location.
On Election Day, eligible voters may vote at a voting location in the ward in which they live or have property.
You will elect the Mayor, Ward/Regional Councillor and School Board Trustees. Bring your Voter notification card (if you receive one) and one piece of acceptable identification.
Before you vote
Take a few minutes to ensure you are eligible, your voter information is correct and you know where to vote. This helps make the voting process faster and helps election staff give you the right ballot.

Ways to vote
Vote in person
If you’re eligible, you can vote in person during advance voting or on Election Day. During advance voting, you can vote at any advance voting location in Mississauga. On Election Day, you can vote at any voting location within your ward.
To make voting easier, confirm you’re on the voters’ list before you go. If you receive a Voter notification card, bring it with you. The card is not required to vote, but it shows your voting information and can help speed up the process.
You must bring one piece of acceptable identification that shows your name and qualifying Mississauga address, such as:
A valid Ontario driver’s licence
Ontario photo card
Cancelled personalized cheque
Insurance policy or statement
Any other document listed on Ontario’s acceptable voter identification list.
Vote by proxy
If you can’t vote in person during advance voting or on Election Day, you can ask another eligible voter to vote on your behalf. This is called voting by proxy.
Your proxy must be eligible to vote in Mississauga. You and your proxy must complete an Appointment for Voting Proxy Form and have it certified by Mississauga’s Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. on Monday, October 26. Find out more.
Vote from Front Door Pilot Program
The City is offering a Vote from Front Door option for the 2026 Municipal Election. You must be an eligible voter to participate. Availability is limited.
This pilot program is designed for people who can’t leave their homes due to illness, injury or mobility, and do not have someone to act as a proxy to vote on their behalf.
